In addition to an excerpt from the book, we have included below a link to a radio interview with Studs Terkel. After the book was published, I did many interviews; Patsy joined me for a few. None better expressed our intentions and hopes than this one.

One of the ways I evoke Patsy in the book is by describing images she retrieved with her camera. Certain of her photographs are thus integral to the narrative. Yet they do not appear in it. Our colleague David Eads has created a photo essay that suggests the possibilities of an edition in which photos and text would be braided together.
